ABOUT

We are a church made up of students and professionals, especially focused on teaching the Bible to university students in London.

We are a non-denominational lay mission with no employed or full-time church staff. We study the Bible with anybody interested, in our spare time.

THE KIND OF CHURCH WE WANT TO BE

Jesus at the centre

Jesus is the centre of everything. We want to know him, become like him and help others discover him. We have a particular focus on students and young people, but we are a church of all ages.

Living as disciples, making disciples

Church is a community where we learn together how to follow Christ in our relationships, work, money, family and suffering. Disciples make disciples, and we pray God will raise up Bible teachers for the nation.

Formed by the Word

Scripture is God’s word and our supreme authority, so careful, faithful Bible teaching is at the heart of our ministry. We want to be not only a Bible-teaching church but a Bible-living one.

A loving spiritual community

We welcome people as they are because Jesus welcomed us. Grace is freely given, repentance is normal, forgiveness is practised and becoming like Jesus is our shared expectation.

A monastery in the city

We cultivate rhythms of Scripture, prayer, worship, silence, fellowship, hospitality, generosity and service so that we can live faithfully in a busy, distracted city.

Dependent on the Spirit

We pray ‘Come, Holy Spirit,’ expecting him to transform character, give gifts, guide us and empower our witness.

Everyone has a part to play

The church is not spectators served by professionals; we currently have no paid staff. The Spirit gives gifts to every Christian to encourage, teach, serve and disciple others.

Open doors

There is room for the convinced, the doubtful and the curious. Questions do not frighten us. We listen before answering and offer the welcome of Jesus.

One Church

We belong to something far larger than ourselves and gladly work with Christians from other traditions. We hold convictions on secondary matters but will not let them take the centre.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

DOCTRINE

Our beliefs are most fully summarised in the Westminster Confession of Faith along with the Larger and Shorter Catechisms. These secondary documents are subordinate to the Bible, which alone is the infallible Word of God.

We hold to the historic teachings of Christian orthodoxy as articulated in the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed, and subscribe to the Evangelical Alliance statement of faith, of which we are a member.
